Nick Reeson - Football in the Community Manager



Qualifications: FA “first 4” Sport level two coach, UEFA B Coaching License (pending final assessment), FA Assistant Club Coach, FA Soccer Star Coach, FA Emergency Aid Certificate, FA Child Protection and Best Practice Certificate, member of the Football Association Coaches Association.

Football and coaching background: Nick is an ex-professional footballer at Lincoln City and has also played for a number of clubs since leaving the Imps. At youth level, Nick played for Fishtoft Youth before getting his football skills noticed by a number of clubs, which eventually led to him having spells at Nottingham Forest, Peterborough United and Sheffield United. At senior level after leaving Lincoln City, Nick had spells with a number of clubs that include Grantham Town, Boston United, Boston Town, Wisbech Town, Spalding United and Soham Town Rangers. During his time as a footballer, Nick received many honours while playing. Nick was named the “best midfielder” at the Non-League Euro 2000 tournament in Holland. He also represented a European Select XI v Vitesse Arnhem of Holland in July 2000. During his time with Boston United in 2000, he won a Lincolnshire League medal and he was also a member of the Lincoln City promotion-winning squad in 1998. Last season Nick was part of the Soham Town Rangers squad who won the Ridgeons Premier League title and they were promoted to the British Gas Midlands Division for the first time in the clubs history.

Nick is an experienced coach for the Football in the Community scheme and has been since involved at York Street since 2004 when United’s scheme was established. Before all this, he had gained lots of coaching experience working at a number of places. Nick worked for Fenland District Council as a coach, Nottingham Forest as a grassroots coach between 1999 and 2002, Carl Smith coaching between 1998 and 2002 and is also a McDonalds Disability Coach. In total, he has 14 years coaching experience. Away from work, Nick’s hobbies include socialising, watching a match if he isn’t playing, eating out and going to the gym when he can.

Nick was promoted to the role of FITC Manager after Brett Whaley's departure from the Staffsmart Stadium in January 2007.
