A message from the chairman
I firmly believe that the football club should be at the heart of the community, and the Football in the Community scheme is a key player in the link between Boston United Football club and the wider public.

The scheme is a non profit making organisation that delivers a diverse range of sports related activities, and is a valued part of the club.

Through a qualified and very dedicated team of coaches, it delivers national curriculum PE into schools, after school clubs, evening sessions, school holiday courses, the Summer Sports Tour for Boston United, crime reduction programmes in conjunction with Lincolnshire Police, it works with the NHS on various initiatives, and is teaming up with our Study Support Centre to deliver further courses.

This season the scheme have arranged a school’s league that compete at half time during home games at The Staffsmart Stadium. This is based on ‘Fair Play’, where it is not necessarily the team that has the most talented footballers who win, as manners, sportsmanship, language used during the game etc are all taken into account when the winning side is decided. This helps the participants realise that sport can be played in a competetive, yet fair manner, which will then hopefully be translated into life skills.

As we develop a new business plan to take the football club forward, the Football in the Community scheme will be a key part of our plans. It will have a dual benefit in helping to deliver government & local authority initiatives, whilst hopefully creating healthy fans of the future. The football club will work closely with the scheme to increase the range of courses and opportunities on offer.

The scheme is run by Nick Reeson and his staff, who are well qualified, very professional and totally dedicated to their work.

They have the full support of myself and everyone at the club, and we wish them well.
