Young people in South Holland was spoilt for choice this summer with the first ever Summer Sports Tour, sponsored by Broadgate Homes.

South Holland District Council's Sport Development Officer has devised the intiative which will enable children in the District to participate in Sport at a minimal cost. With over 380 sessions of sport, South Holland has probably the largest comprehensive programme of sport in the County this summer.

"There was something for everyone from Archery to badminton, Summer Sport Camps, Football, Dance, Sailing, tennis and much much more." Some of the activities have top class coaching, with high profile Cricket and Squash players involved.

Each child received a Sports Tour Brochure with full details, including costs and how to book which was distributed through the schools.

As part of the Summer Sports Tour FITC held F.A. Charter Standard Holiday Courses in Spalding, Holbeach and Crowland over the summer where participants received a Summer Sports Tour T-shirt as well as holiday course goodies supplied by FITC.

Many particpants took part in the successful programme and steps have been taken to run another sports tour in Easter 2008.
